Services were held May 20, 2023, at kingdom Hall of Jehovah’as Witnesses in Jefferson.
Interment will be at a later date in Lake City.
Denise Colette (LaVine) Geisler, daughter of Ronald and Karon LaVine, was born in Lake City on July 4, 1955, and departed this life May 11, 2023.
Denise graduated from Lake City High School in 1973. She had many jobs that she enjoyed throughout her life. She worked as a surgical assistant at Stewart Memorial Hospital. She owned her own house cleaning business where she became close with her many clients over the years. In recent years she had enjoyed working at the Greene County Early Learning Center until her retirement in 2020. She had many titles throughout her life but her favorite of all was being Mom and Grandma.
Denise’s grandchildren were the light of her life. You could always find them in the kitchen making new recipes, reading books, playing board games, enjoying the outdoors, building forts or making crafts.
Denise was known for having a home remedy for just about anything. She was an avid gardener and loved bird watching. She had a love for dolphins which led to a large collection of anything and everything dolphin. One of her favorite memories was fulfilling her lifelong dream of swimming with dolphins on a cruise in the Caribbean.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Karon LaVine.
Survivors include her children Curtise (Heidi Roderick) LaVine of Naples, FL, Travis (Christy) Venteicher of Churdan, and Amy (Carl) Meyer of Glidden; grandchildren;Landyn, Haidyn, Joplin, Carly, Brodie, Shelby, Cara and Makenna sister, Crystal (Rick) Woltman of Cherokee; and a niece and nephew, April (Mike) Mason and Kevin (Lucille) Woltman.
